About RSS

RSS or Real Simple Syndication (which is often represented by the rss feed icon symbol) is a feed format specified in XML (eXtensible Markup Language) for delivering passive content over the web. These feeds can be read by an RSS Reader, displayed in some browser windows, aggregated by other sites, and be viewed without having to access a particular web page. For an in-depth (and technical) discussion of RSS and Web Syndication, visit O'Reilly's XML and RSS page. For a more accessible (and non-technical) discussion of RSS and Web Syndication, check out this article. Blogs for Learning also has some very helpful blog posts and articles about RSS & Web Syndication within the context of the classroom. Check these out here and here.
